VANESSA HEHIR
Vanessa is a British/Irish screenwriter, award-winning filmmaker and an RTS-nominated actor, with leading roles in popular TV dramas including Waterloo Road, Heartbeat, and Coronation Street.
In 2019, Vanessa wrote and directed two short films which received international acclaim and screenings at BAFTA, BIFA, and Academy-qualifying festivals. In 2021 she was selected for Channel 4's 4Screenwriting mentorship scheme with her comedy pilot Unlucky, a romantic comedy about a woman falling in love with a 6ft wish-granting leprechaun. Unlucky was also shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Writersroom and was recently optioned by Northern Sister.
In 2023, Vanessa was invited to join BAFTA as a connect member. Presently, she is in pre-production for her third short, Cold Callers, a dark comedy/horror forming the starting point of a proposed 6-part television series.
