SEEMAB GUL
Seemab is a British-Pakistani filmmaker with a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Filmmaking from the London Film School. Her films have screened at the Venice Film Festival, Sundance and over a hundred other international festivals. She was a fellow of the Locarno Open Doors Producers Lab and a Berlinale Talent. An absolute must-watch is her short film SANDSTORM, which has screened all over the world at Academy qualifying festivals. Jemima Khan and Jamie Ray Newman acted as exec producers. SANDSTORM won a total of 19 awards internationally and was shortlisted at the BIFAs 2022. It was broadcast on Canal + in France and on The New Yorker, worldwide. She’s currently in prep on her first feature HAVEN OF HOPE post a stint at La Fabrique in Cannes in 2022. Seemab is also developing her first English-language feature with Film 4 and Braintrust, as well as a short film, DIVINE, with writer Zia Holloway, with Aluna Entertainment. She is a BECTU, Directors UK and BAFTA Connect member.
