Leanne Davis’s short film about a complicated mother and daughter relationship has won 4 awards at the Women X Festival:

  • Best North East Film

  • Best Producer

  • Best Ensemble Performance

  • Best Director (the director being Leanne herself!)

It's wannabe movie star Rose's 60th birthday and she's desperate to celebrate like it's 1999. Her partner in crime and uptight daughter Genevieve is however struggling to ignore some recent, tragic revelations about her Mum. As the enigmatic duo regress back to childhood ways, A LAST RESORT takes a humorous, idiosyncratic and occasionally painfully honest look at mother/daughter relationships and the dastardly life cards so many of us are dealt.
