LEANNE DAVIS
Leanne Davis is a writer/director from Darlington, now living in Nottingham. In January 2023 Leanne went into development with Heyday TV as writer/creator of her original TV series idea, Misadventure, first written during her time on the 2020 BBC Drama Writers Scheme (now known as 'Pilot'). The following year Leanne was selected for the Channel 4 script writing mentorship scheme and Misadventure made the 2021 Brit List.
Leanne's 2021/22 BFI-funded, directorial-debut short film A Last Resort is currently having great success on the festival circuit and has been played at numerous BIFA accredited festivals, culminating in a Royal Television Society NE&B Nomination for Best Short Film 2024. Leanne has also been awarded the TVIFF scholarship to make her next short film, But First, Tea, to be shot at The Northern Studios in June 2024.
Her romcom play RIPE received Arts Council Funding in 2022 and is in development with Carbon Theatre in collaboration with the Park Theatre for 2024.
