KATIE LYONS
Katie is an actor and writer and has carved out extensive experience working in immersive and interactive theatre both as a script writer and a collaborator. She recently wrote the script for Peaky Blinders: The Rise which ran in Camden from 2022-23, and is currently writing another immersive production, Paddington Bear at London County Hall. Katie has a radio comedy pilot in development with Gramercy Park Studios, all recorded binaurally with 3D sound technology.
Katie is excited by pushing the physical boundaries of storytelling and lifting the drama into a sensory space for her audience. For Look Left Look Write, Katie co-wrote the award-winning immersive show You Once Said Yes (Roundhouse, Edinburgh Fringe, Southampton, Salford, Perth Australia), Above and Beyond (Corinthia Hotel), The Many Whoops of Whoops Town (Lyric Hammersmith) and Once Upon a Christmas (Covent Garden). She developed a binaural sound musical with China Plate and has written a promenade audio show for Tangled Feet, Boots on The Ground (Salisbury/Dulwich) and is currently developing an idea with them for a virtual reality platform.
Katie’s acting television credits include Manhunt, Bluestone 42, Call The Midwife, The Crimson Petal and The White, Boy A and Green Wing, and plays at the National Theatre and the Bush Theatre.
Katie has recently returned to her writing after having twins and is now developing some new work, including a stage play and original material for screen.
