JOE BARKER
Joe Barker is an emerging screenwriter and script editor originally from the North East, with a particular interest in using distinctive twists on genre to explore contemporary societal issues including regional and national identity, class divides and elevating underrepresented voices. His breathtaking spec BOUDICA is a fresh take on an infamous British historical figure, which provides the storytelling platform for an historical epic with contemporary sensibilities (think Game of Thrones meets The Man in the High Castle) Joe started his career in LA, working at Skydance and later MGM, before returning to the UK to work at Working Title as a development assistant for the film team. He then went on to join the BBC as a commissioning coordinator, working under Ben Irving, before joining Bad Wolf as a script editor, where he currently works.
