HARTLEY LLOYD-PACK
Hartley is a writer and lyricist and has worked at the Hackney Children and Young People’s Services since 2014. His experiences in the care-system inspire much of his work as a writer. In 2018 he launched a podcast, Mixtape Assembly, in which guests talk about the songs, lyrics and poems that have meant the most in their lives. Guests have included Benjamin Zephaniah and Jimmy Akingbola . Hartley is a performer of poetry and rap, and was drawn to the idea of interspersing narrative with musical interludes to tell the authentic story of RAW GODS, an original TV project in development with Fully Focused Productions and the BBC. In 2022 Fully Focused released a teaser short film version of the project on their YouTube channel. The film was produced in collaboration with young film trainees from the Fully Focused training academy, and the children in care that Hartley works with. Hartley was part of the BBC London Voices Programme in 2023.
