DANIEL DANIEL
Daniel Daniel is an award-winning writer-director born and raised in London, and a recent graduate of the Directing Fiction MA at the National Film and Television School He started making low-budget short films whilst studying for his Philosophy (BA) at King's College London. Since then, he has made a variety of award-winning short films and critically-acclaimed theatre productions. His recent film BLEACH was nominated for Best British Short at the Iris Prize Festival 2023 and currently streams on All4. SAUCE played at BAFTA-Qualifying festivals Aesthetica and SOUL, winning the Best Screenplay at High Peak Film Festival. It currently features on popular YouTube platform Omeleto along with another short film PULL. His NFTS graduation film SEED OF DOUBT is a Yiddish-language folk-horror shot on 16mm. His past theatre work includes writing and directing an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s NEVSKY PROSPEKT (Pentameters Theatre) and the critically-acclaimed THE KNOT (Old Red Lion Theatre). Daniel's work tends to explore characters struggling with profound questions of meaning, framed through stories of intimacy and relationships.
